Pregnant and a week overdue, Lexy Campbell’s hope for a quiet Burns’ Supper at the Cuento Celtic Society is dashed in minutes. The haggis is ceremonial only, the actual dinner is chicken (!), and then the haggis cutter’s missing dirk turns up in the back of a dead guest no one can identify—because of course it does.

With a room full of potential suspects, and contractions potentially minutes away, Lexy and the rest of Trinity for Trouble must untangle a mystery involving old grudges, family feuds, and some very convincing magical misdirection.

Making the most of her last few baby-free days (if you can count lugging it about in her belly as truly baby-free) Lexy joins Todd and Kathi on a road trip to the beach at Carmel-on-Sea, to a no-alcohol wine tasting at a posh Napa vineyard, and has a good old nosey around one of Sacramento's Fab Forties mansions. If it wasn't work - and if Lexy could eat without heartburn, find one single comfortable position, or go more than twenty munutes without peeing - it would be fun. As things stand ...

The trio race to uncover a killer, before Lexy runs out of patience, time, baldder capacity and possibly all dignity.
